Redman Burger the real deal
Agriculture Minister Terry Redman was flipping burgers this week at the unveiling of the State's first restaurant to sign on to Buy West, Eat Best. Leederville restaurant Jus Burgers recently committed to using only WA produce, already using eight suppliers signed to the program. Owner Justin Bell said it was an easy decision to commit to local produce. "I saw signing to the ‘Buy West, Eat Best' program as an opportunity to confirm my support for local farmers and suppliers and also educate customers about WA food," he said. "Since incorporating the program's branding into our restaurant, customers have been congratulating us on supporting the WA food industry. "Having lived and worked in Perth for almost 10 years now, I feel I have sufficient local knowledge and judgment as to where and who my suppliers should be," he said. All beef is supplied by Harvey Beef, Amelia Park Lamb supply all lamb, Mt Barker Chicken supply all chicken, fish is supplied by Festival Fish Markets, Morley Growers supply all vegetables and chips are hand-made from Supa Spud potatoes. After eating his meal dubbed the ‘Redman Burger' he said the initiative was a fantastic way to support WA growers.
