Andrew Forrest’s Harvest Road makes two new senior hires

Andrew Forrest’s diversified agri-food company Harvest Road has bolstered its leadership team with two key hires. Ben Dwyer and Mark Wiedermann have joined the group as it capitalises on increased global demand for high-quality and sustainable foods. Tattarang’s chief investment officer John Hartman said the expanded leadership team would help accelerate the group’s growth agenda. The appointments follow the departure of long standing and high profile general manager Kim McDougall, who has been appointed land manager at Mr Forrest’s green energy company Fortescue Future Industries. Mr Dwyer has been appointed chief operating officer, pastoral, backgrounding and feeding facility. He is a senior industry executive, joining the business from Australian Country Choice where he was chief executive of its joint venture Australian Cattle & Beef Holdings. Mr Dwyer also spent several years working for the Green family running Balmoral Stations in the east Kimberley and Pilbara. Mr Wiedermann has been appointed to the newly-created position of chief commercial officer. He joins from a similar position with Mrs Mac’s pies. Mr Wiedermann has more than 20 years leadership experience including roles with Coca Cola and the beverage company Suntory Group. Tattarang chief executive Andrew Hagger said the two new hires brought decades of experience drawn from Australia’s agricultural, pastoral and consumer goods industries. Both Mr Dwyer and Mr Wiedermann will report to Harvest Road chief executive Paul Slaughter. who joined the group from Mrs Mac’s in February, replacing Greg Harvey. Harvest Road, part of the Tattarang Group, is one of Australia’s biggest agri-food businesses, with revenue of $418 million in the year ending June 2020. Brands include Harvey Beef and the new Leeuwin Coast aquaculture label.
