Exploration delivers three WA gold targets for Infinity

Infinity Mining has its foot on three compelling gold targets at its Barlow’s Gully project in the Central Goldfields of WA after rock chip sampling, aircore drilling and a soil analysis program confirmed the ground’s prospectivity. The company says the rock chips delivered grades as high as 15.5 parts per million gold and the explorer is now working towards an RC campaign to test the trio.

The Queensland based gold explorer says the largest anomaly tips the scales at 480m by 100m in size.

The discovery of the three targets follows the completion of a reconnaissance mapping and rock chip sampling program at the tenement earlier this year. The work saw the company bag eight samples from an area speckled with surface-dwelling quartz veins.

Infinity says three of the eight samples delivered high-grade assay results running over 1 part per million with the headline figure running 15.495 ppm gold.

After confirming the high-grade gold in surface rock chip samples, the company wheeled in an air core truth diviner to drill test the ground.

The rig plunged 194 holes into the eastern rim of the Barlow’s tenement – an area laden with Archean greenstones although it is blanketed by a thin veil of alluvial cover.

Archean greenstone belts are revered for being one of the more productive sources of the precious metal, with some of the world’s most important gold districts found in the systems, notably Western Australia’s Yilgarn Craton.

Infinity also used the aircore program to collect samples for additional analysis, pulling 1m thick sections from each of the 194 holes.

Th explorer then ran a 220-piece soil sampling program on the western edge of the Barlow’s tenement - where the alluvial veneer is thinner and the outcrop is moderately exposed.

Management argues the aircore and soil sampling programs returned highly anomalous values of up to 0.681 ppm gold and led to the discovery of the trio of targets whilst its largest target is coincident with a magnetic anomaly and could be linked to a granitoid intrusion – major hosts of gold deposits.

Barlow’s Gully sits along strike to a number of major gold deposits in the Leonora District, including Red 5’s 2 million ounce plus King of the Hills project.

Infinity is something of a newcomer to the ASX, listing at the back end of last year with a suite of lithium, silver, copper and nickel holdings to complement its precious metal ambitions.
