Horticultural scientist Sabrina Hahn shared her knowledge with patrons, giving two presentations on two topics — sustainable gardening and first aid for plants.

A reptile display was also a hit, with many people getting up close and personal with snakes and lizards.

Field day secretary Sally Block said more than 3000 people attended the event which had close to 200 exhibits this year.

“The weather put a few off but mainly they turned up and many had a good day, particularly in the Food and Wine Hall and the machinery area,” she said.

“A big thank you to the exhibitors and visitors who came, as we did have some long spells of sunny weather, but the intermittent showers just wouldn’t go away.”

Among the exhibits were poultry, livestock, machinery and plants, while equestrian events, shearing demonstrations and live music kept patrons entertained.
