WA's spectacular food and wine will be on show at the 2014 IGA Taste Great Southern, which runs until the end of March.

Tourism Minister Liza Harvey said the festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary, displayed some of the State's best fresh local produce, premium wine and boutique breweries.

"The event will feature high-profile chefs such as Australian cook, restaurateur and food writer Stephanie Alexander; MasterChef Australia personality Poh Ling Yeow and Western Australia's very own Anna Gare," Ms Harvey said.

"In addition, more than 45 events will be held across the Great Southern ranging from farmers markets, cooking demonstrations and degustation dinners to beach barbecues and picnics."

Ms Harvey said WA was gaining a reputation as a world-class food and wine destination and events such as Taste Great Southern helped to further promote the State.

"The festival not only attracts thousands of people but it also provides a boost to local businesses and highlights the region's diverse range of food, wine and tourism products," she said.
