See the pictures: Northam Women in Business puts on a beautiful long table luncheon

Northam Women in Business has done it once again — providing a stand-out event while raising funds to support others. After two years of planning, including a postponement due to COVID-19, the Northam Women in Business Committee put on a stellar event in a paddock at a farm not far from town on Sunday, April 2. The event was called “Embrace by Kailis Jewellery. A Long Table Lunch by Northam Women in Business”. A total 180 guests gathered in a paddock at the Knipe Farming Co’s farm in Spencer’s Brook for the sell-out event. Those attending were treated to a three-course, extended lunch by Gather York, with a focus on local product. Soothing sounds by harpist Sarah Susanne Jackson provided plenty of entertainment upon arrival and throughout the afternoon. The drinks were flowing and laughter was had by all, who were inspired by guest speakers Michelle Hepworth, Bec Millar, Dr Siddier Chambers and keynote speaker Dixie Marshall. Attendees came from as far as Perth, Mandurah and Geraldton, joining those from the Wheatbelt for a day of fun. Many community members were also able to enjoy the event after buying limited tickets for the raffling of a pearl necklace, donated by Kailis Jewellery and worth $3000, or a $1300 Heyscape voucher for a Wheatbelt stay. Those who enjoyed the uplifting event not only enjoyed a day of laughter with new and old friends, but also took home a premium keepsake magazine and a potted succulent to grow as a memento. Money raised from both ticket sales will be put towards buying a well through Tasmanian-founded aid organisation Water For a Village, as well as helping fund local mentoring programs for Wheatbelt women. Northam Women in Business president Joanne Hill said there had been overwhelming support from the community. Sponsors included Kailis Jewellery, Avon Valley Toyota, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Chalice Mining, Elders Northam, Grey St Surgery, Kindred Spirit Boutique & Gift, Mind You Money, and Zax and Co. Donations were gifted by Angie Roe Photography, Heyscape, Knipe Farming Co, Ku-Barz, Central Wheatbelt MLA Mia Davies, Jim and Jenny Lucy, and Northam and Districts Glass.
