Harvest forecast for year doubles

Harvest is drawing to a close as growers finish their programs and pack away their headers.

The Grain Industry Association of WA has forecast the 2017-18 crop, including seed retained on farms, at about 14 million tonnes.

That was double the industry’s dire June prediction that the season could deliver less than seven million tonnes.
