Tractor train a big hit with kids
A popular attraction returned to this year’s Newdegate Machinery Field Days — the Tractor Trail Train.
After spending recent shows on the sidelines, the ride returned to the two-day event last Wednesday and Thursday to take children and their parents for rides around the showgrounds’ oval.
The tractor train was mostly driven by field days sponsorship and promotions officer Helen Steicke, who was the driving force committed to bringing the attraction back to this year’s show.
“I really loved it — it was the highlight of my two days,” she said.
“The kids really enjoyed it as well, which is the important part.”
Newdegate Machinery Field Days president Craig Newman said it was overwhelming to have the ride back.
“Helen was determined to get it going again this year because it hadn’t been in action for a few years,” Mr Newman said. “The kids loved it — it was a great success.”
Following its successful return to the Newdegate Machinery Field Days, Kulin Bush Races organisers have asked to borrow the train for the upcoming 25th Annual Kulin Community Bank Bush Races.
The ride will be in action at the race meeting, held from October 4-6.
