WAMMCO boss steps down

Countryman

WAMMCO has started an international search to replace chief cxecutive Coll MacRury, who will return to New Zealand at the end of February for family reasons.

Cooperative chairman, Dawson Bradford said Mr MacRury had helped grow the business in significantly challenging times since he joined WAMMCO in April 2009.

His experience with producer-owned processing in New Zealand benefited WA where there is a continuing decline in stock numbers.

Mr Bradford said while he is disappointed Mr MacRury is heading home – that’s life sometimes.

“I would rather have a chief executive of Mr MacRury’s calibre for a couple of years than a lesser person for a longer period,” he said.

Mr MacRury will stop full-time management of WAMMCO from the end of February, but has offered to stay on part-time until a suitable replacement is found.
