Kobelco winner for Westco

Westco Equipment has sold its first Kobelco excavator before even opening its doors officially as the newest member of the Kobelco dealer network.

The WA dealership has also had many requests for parts from Kobelco owners in WA.

"The guys who run Westco Equipment also run a major equipment dealership in South Australia, so they know how to provide the kind of expert advice, service and support that Kobelco owners expect from their local dealership," Kobelco Australia brand leader Doug McQuinn said.

Westco is run by business partners Andrew Abbott and Dean Kovacevich, creating the ideal mix of Andrew's machinery sales and administration skills coupled with Dean's product knowledge and customer service focus.

"We wanted to become the WA Kobelco dealership because of the product itself," Andrew said.

"We know other dealers in the Kobelco network and we know a lot of Kobelco customers so we've always heard about the great reputation Kobelco has with dealers and customers alike. When the opportunity arose to take on the dealership, we jumped at it."

Dean agreed, saying the WA industry is poised for an upswing in 2012.

"Last year was a slow market but I think we'll see a bit of an upsurge this year," he said.

Westco is located in Beckenham but will relocate to a main road location once the right site is available.
