Bunge appoints WA manager

Countryman

International grain and commodities company Bunge Australia has appointed Christopher Tyson to the new position of WA regional manager.

Bunge Australia general manager Chris Aucote said the appointment was another milestone for the company as it expanded its operations in WA.

In March this year, Bunge started construction of its new grain port facility at Bunbury.

The facility is expected to be operational by the middle of next year.

Mr Aucote said Mr Tyson was a key appointment and he had significant experience in the WA grain industry.

"Christopher will manage our WA operations, which will include engaging with grain growers and grower groups and grain buying and marketing activities to meet our export program," he said.

"We are progressing well with the construction of the port and are aiming to be operational by mid next year.

"With Christopher now on board, we will look to increase our grain accumulation program for the current harvest, which will include offering new on-farm contracts for WA growers."

Mr Tyson has 10 years' experience in the WA agricultural sector, having previously worked for AWB in grain marketing and product development and as an agribusiness analyst with National Australia Bank.

He currently resides in Kulin and will be based in Bunbury in the long-term.
