The Burchnell family, earthwork specialists for 30 years, know having the right machines is crucial for the success of their business.

The business, Kingsline Enterprises, specialises in major earthworks, stormwater drainage and concrete and bitumen paving projects.

“For any earthmoving business to be a success, you need dependable machines, ” managing director Phil Burchnell said.

“Building developments are on tight schedules and companies won’t deal with businesses that can’t get jobs done on time. It’s a very competitive industry.”

The Kingsline Enterprises’ fleet features two New Holland skid steer loaders — an L170 and an L175.

Mr Burchnell purchased an L170 skid steer loader three years ago from New Holland dealer McIntosh & Son in Perth.

So impressed by the L170’s performance, Mr Burchnell recently bought the L175 skid steer loader to help keep up with work demands.

“We are working these machines hard and will probably turn them over between 5000 and 6000 hours, ” he said. “The New Holland skid steer loaders are certainly meeting our expectations as far as performance and power.

“The visibility from the cab is good and the New Holland skid steers are a lot more comfortable to operate compared to other brands I’ve used.

“The L170 and L175 skid steer loaders are very easy to use, are reasonably priced and I wouldn’t swap to another brand. They are incredibly reliable machines.

Mr Burchnell said he had had no problems with his New Holland gear, but it was peace of mind, that should there be any glitches, his local dealer was capable of providing back-up and service. He said it was vital to have a good relationship with your dealer.
