Wool came first in the fashion stakes this year, as a rejuvenated focus on the versatile fibre hit the catwalk at Wagin Woolorama's fashion parade. Outfits included everything from stunning eveningwear to playful floral frocks, as well as trackpants and hoodies.

What was most impressive about this year's parade was that the outfits, a big number of which were mainly wool, were sourced from not only Australian Wool Innovation's collection but West Australian businesses, talented local designers and well-known fashion labels too.

Fashion parade co-ordinator Koshie Iles said her links to the wool industry - her family runs a shearing contracting business in the Great Southern - meant she was inspired to show off as many woollen garments as possible.
