4Farmers appoints ‘No till Bill’ as its acting general manager after resignation of Trent Kensett-Smith

Former farmer and no till promoter, Bill Crabtree, has been appointed as the acting general manager of 4Farmers. Mr Crabtree replaces outgoing general manager Trent Kensett-Smith — a former WAFarmers chief executive — who departed the company in March after nearly 18 months in the role. Mr Crabtree returned to WA in October last year after a stint in Africa where he promoted agricultural change in the Congo after selling his Morawa farm. He said the appointment at 4Farmers lined up with his farming philosophy and he looked forward to assisting WA producers to continue to reach record crop results and a profitable, sustainable outcome. “No till and 4Farmers emerged in parallel,” Mr Crabtree said. “4Farmers was all about affordable herbicides, which made no till more attractive for farmers.” He said the combination of no till and available affordable herbicides was one reason why WA croppers were recording record harvests of 26 million tonnes, well above the 13-14 million tonne range prior to no till. 4Farmers is a WA based company with a core business in manufacturing, importing and distributing direct to farmers a wide range of agricultural chemicals. It aims to ensure customers receive a fair and competitively priced product.
