West Australian opera fans rejoice!

Fresh from performing at the Queen’s jubliee, the world’s most beloved opera star Andrea Bocelli is set to return to Australia for the first time in almost a decade.

Bocelli hasn’t toured Australia in eight years but he will make his along awaited return later this year — and it will include a show in WA.

The Italian opera legend will stage a mammoth set on some of Australia’s biggest stages with a 70-piece orchestra and 60-person choir.

Bocelli will bring his tour to Perth’s Sandalford Estate on November 5.

He said he hoped his latest shows would “restore some serenity and enter gently into people’s hearts.”

“The Australian tour dates are not just concerts to me, they are opportunities for us to immerse ourselves in musical beauty on a grand scale,” he said in a statement.

“If my previous tours are anything to go by, I’ve always found Australian audiences to be passionate, enthusiastic and friendly.

“With its ability to inspire and heal, music is its own language and I never tire of performing these songs – even the ones I’ve been singing in concert for more than 25 years – because they move me so deeply.

“Music is essential nourishment for the human spirit. What better way to celebrate the joys of life than through song.”

The 63-year-old had Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall almost in tears following his emotional performance of his rendition of the classic aria Nessun Dorma, during the Queen’s Platinum Party.

Bocelli also performed at reality star Kourtney Kardashian’s lavish Italian wedding last month.

Tickets go on sale on June 17.
