House That! Car king Bronte Howson’s year of property milestones, which includes listing his home for sale

If the sudden spike in inquiries for electric cars wasn’t keeping Bronte Howson busy enough, property stepped in to fill any spare moment he had this year. Mr Howson, who helped build Automotive Holdings Group into a $1 billion-plus behemoth before he left in 2016, has just listed his Mosman Park property for sale. He and wife Colleen are selling as they prepare to move into a home they have been building since the pre-Covid days, also in Mosman Park. While construction took longer than expected, the pair were never in a rush to leave the home now listed for sale. It’s been a year of property milestones for the owner of Perth’s Audi Centre, who has just opened a second dealership in Myaree this month. The impressive 100-tonne steel building was years in planning and construction. The early days at the new centre, as well as at his longstanding Osborne Park dealership, have been marked by inquiries about electric vehicles amid concerns over fuel costs. “We’ve certainly seen a lot of inquiries about electric cars, with people wanting to find out the pros and cons and how it sits with the infrastructure,” he said. Moving is bittersweet, as he will miss the four-bedroom, four-bathroom property listed through agent Jody Fewster. The stately home has a double-height entry with a sweeping staircase and marble floors. The multiple living areas include formal lounge and dining, a living area and a billiards room with a bar. The resort-style garden has an alfresco pavilion with a built-in barbecue and an outdoor kitchen overlooking the swimming pool. And of course, parking is secure at the car king’s house, with space for four cars.
