Man hospitalised with leg injury after fox attack in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges

A man has been hospitalised following a fox attack in regional Victoria.

The incident happened on the man’s Macedon Ranges property at Romsey, about 67km north of Melbourne, at 6am on Monday.

Victoria Ambulance advanced life support paramedics responded to the incident and provided care to a man in his 50s, who suffered lower body injuries from a fox bite.

A spokesman said the victim was rushed to Northern Hospital in a stable condition.

Exotic wildlife vet Nicole Su told 9 News it was the first time she had heard of such a bad attack on a person.

“Unfortunately we are seeing (foxes) encroaching onto more and more urban areas and we’re having more sightings as well, and what we are seeing is they are getting bolder,” she said.
