Designed by Shayne Le Roy Design, the breathtaking abode fronts an unbroken view to the North Beach coastline and it wasn’t just the stunning seaside outlook that wowed judges – the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home is impressive at every turn.

Spadaccini Homes Managing Director Rob Spadaccini said the luxury home was designed with wellbeing in mind and it boasted well-considered spaces throughout.

“The client leads a very active lifestyle, so we included features such as the massive gymnasium, the sauna, the steam room and the pool to match those desired lifestyle elements,” he said.

Working with Spadaccini Homes to deliver an exquisite interior design, Opulence Designers Principal Designer Gavin Lim said while the client requested particular inclusions, the basis of the design was left to the team.

“This client entrusted us from inception to completion, with freedom of interpretation of their brief to create their forever home,” he said.

“This gave us the opportunity to take the original plans and turn it into what you see now.”

Upon entry, guests are welcomed by a cavernous foyer with polished plaster ceilings and an industrial-style formal sitting area.

The ground level consists of a sprawling entertainment hub and showcases an achromatic design across the kitchen, scullery, dining area and living space.

“I would describe the style of the home as simplistic in form but complex in its execution – a multitude of individual details are present,” Mr Lim said.

An architectural elevator takes you upstairs and Mr Spadaccini dubbed it one of the home’s best features.

“The lift is an artwork in itself,” he said. “It has glass windows, which look into the lift shaft.

“The lift shaft itself has planar tiles and brass strips with LED lighting impregnated into it.”

As an alternative to the lift, the home boasts a beautiful spiral staircase, with Mr Lim saying he knew he could turn it into a masterpiece.

“The original brief from the client was a circular staircase, however I wanted it to be something special, I didn’t want just a standard staircase,” he said.

“Then the idea of creating a sculpture as a centrepiece of their home came to me.

“The staircase is engineered from a synergy of materials, including glass, natural stone and Venetian plaster. We then completed it with a custom European-made pendant.”

Traverse the winding staircase to the master suite, a spectacular display of craftsmanship with its own sitting area, balconies, walk-in robe and handbag storage.

“The handbag store is a totally separate room and the master walk-in robe has to be my favourite place in the house,” Mr Lim said.

“It’s constructed with layers of cabinetwork and finished with a lacquered piano finish, accentuated with dramatic concealed lighting – even Carrie Bradshaw would be jealous.”

Downstairs, the basement level is fully equipped with a gym, an outdoor pool, a traditional wet sauna, a modern infrared sauna, a second study and a wine cellar/ built-in cool room.

“The client enjoys keeping fit and this area has an environment akin to a hotel day spa,” Mr Lim said.

At the back of the home is a self-sufficient apartment comprising a three-car garage, a living, dining and kitchen area, a one-bedroom suite and its own wraparound balcony with ocean views.

Other standout features of the home include electronic doors, marble doorframes, commercial air-conditioning, Sky-Frame windows and heated flooring throughout.
