Grant funding available for innovative Denmark community groups with applications closing early March
A pool of almost $30,000 in grant funding is available for innovative Denmark community groups who need a bit of cash to kickstart their grassroots initiatives.
Round two of the $28,500 community grants program is now open to help bring community-led ideas to life.
Denmark shire president Aaron Wiggins said the community grants program is a great way for community groups to gain equal access to funding that they can use to make a big difference in the town.
“I am always impressed with the initiative and resourcefulness of our local community groups,” he said.
“I am looking forward to seeing what applications are submitted this round, and I strongly encourage all eligible groups with an exciting project coming up or a need for assistance to apply.”
Groups can apply for funding of $1000 to $10,000 across six grant categories.
These include start-ups ($1000), build future leaders ($2000), be active ($5000), wellbeing ($5000), environmental sustainability ($5000), and equipment and facilities ($10,000).
Successful applicants will have 18 months to complete and deliver their projects.
Previously successful applicants included HorsePower Denmark, Green Skills, Denmark Community Resource Centre, Denmark Sailing Club, Denmark Riverside Club, Nornalup Ratepayers Association, Denmark Pop Up Piano Project, Denmark Lions Club and Denmark Table Tennis Club.
Anyone interested in applying for the grant is encouraged to book a one-on-one session with the shire’s community development officer for support with their application on 9848 0300 or info@denmark.wa.gov.au.
Applications for round two of the grants close at 4pm on Tuesday March 3. Successful applicants will be notified in late March.
