Glenda’s from across Australia and beyond flocked to Albany on Saturday night, proving that when it comes to a good catch-up there is no distance too far for a Glenda.
The annual Glenda Gaggle celebrated its 20th anniversary at Motel Le Grande, bringing together women named Glenda from across the country and across international waters for an evening of friendship, laughter and glamour.
Glendas travelled from Tasmania, Brisbane, Sydney, Geradton, Perth, Rockingham, Esperance, Queensland and New Zealand alongside local Albany residents to celebrate two decades of the unique gathering.

Organiser Glenda Gaspari said the milestone called for an extra special celebration with guests encouraged to dress in glamorous attire.
“Because it was the 20th anniversary I decided to get the girls all glammed up in glamorous, gorgeous, glitzy evening wear, and they excelled themselves,” she said.
“Some of the girls wore feather boas, and they really got hold of the theme of being glamorous Glendas.”
Ms Gaspari said it was lovely to reminisce on how this exclusive club got started and to celebrate the friendships that have been formed over the past 20 years.
“I started it way back when a woman walked into a cafe where I was working, and she hadn’t heard of any other Glendas,” she said.
“I just sort of quickly said that I could get a group of girls from the local Albany area and we ended up down at Tangleheads on Stirling Terrace.
“We all just had a glass of wine and a cuppa or pizza or a cake or whatever, and it was agreed that we would do it next year and then next year turned into 20 years.
“It was an evening full of fun and full of old and new friendships.”
