Start counting down the days, because Christmas cheer is coming to Dalyellup.

Santa Claus is making a list and checking it twice before he heads to the South West a little early this year to visit Dalyellup residents at Central Lakes Park on Sunday. The annual Community Christmas Festival is back to bring people together to celebrate all things local, with event co-ordinator Lisa O’Neill saying the event was not to be missed.

“It has something for people from all age groups and is sure to be a great family fun day,” she said.

“It’s a free community event with a local focus — it’s run by the community for the community, and everyone helps out.”

Artisan market stalls and local food trucks will be on offer, as well as a raft of activities for children — or those young at heart — ranging from a mechanical surfboard and climbing wall to photo booths and face painting.

Ms O’Neill said the festival would feature a bike valet station to encourage community members to ride or scoot to the event to promote healthy living and reduce congestion at the event.

Christmas carols and a visit from Santa will bring the packed-out schedule to a close, with the lighting of the Christmas tree the bright send-off for the evening.
