Ellenbrook bushfire: Blaze burning near The Vines Golf Course downgraded

A bushfire erupted near The Vines Resort Golf Course on Thursday afternoon, prompting authorities to issue an alert.
Emergency WA earlier warned people bound by Maralla Road, Chidlow Grange, Norcia Way, Vines Avenue, Dorrien Way, Helms Loop, Wonnerup Way, Pineroo Terrace and Tonkin Highway in Ellenbrook and The Vines to stay vigilant.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, where they managed to bring the fire down to an advice level.
“There is no threat to lives or homes,” the alert, issued at 6.55pm, reads.

A short video shared to Main Roads’ X shows a grey plume of smoke wafting over Tonkin Highway between The Promenade and Stock West Road as a helicopter waterbombs the fire.
Residents in the warning zone are told to follow the safety advice below:
- Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.
- Read through your plan and decide what you will do if the situation gets worse. If you do not have a plan, make one now on Emergency WA, or in the Emergency WA app.
- Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.
- Close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.
