WA’s best regional athletes in track and field travelled to Margaret River last weekend for the State Little Athletics Country Championships.

More than 300 athletes from centres as far away as Broome, Kalgoorlie and Esperance competed in some 300 events across three days of competition.

Dunsborough’s Isabella Bidesi represented Bunbury Little Athletics Club and took out the trifecta of gold in the 1500m, 800m and 400m track events. Isabella also took home silver in the 200m and 200m hurdle to round out a great country championships.

Her placings mean she has qualified to compete at the State championships in Perth in March.

Isabella, 11, also flew the flag for WA at the Australian Cross Country Championships in New South Wales in the under-14 category.
