Scott Morrison has missed out on a call from the Queen, despite New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern receiving a personal call from Her Majesty last night.

Ms Ardern posted on social media that she got to speak directly to Queen Elizabeth via telephone last night after receiving a note to advise “the Queen wanted to catch up and see how everyone in New Zealand was getting on in the midst of COVID-19”.

But when asked about his own discussions with the Queen at a press confernece today, Mr Morrison said he had not yet received a call.

“I haven’t heard from the Queen,” he said.
