Man accused of murdering 27-year-old in Yanchep bushland identified as he fronts Joondalup Magistrates Court

A 30-year-old man has fronted court accused of a bushland murder in Perth’s far north. Warren Robert Collard appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with murdering a man in Yanchep on March 1. It follows the discovery of the 27-year-old man’s body on a gravel track near Grampians Loop about 6.40pm on Sunday. A homicide investigation was launched and officers spent several days scouring the scene. They charged Mr Collard, of Rivervale, on Wednesday. In the Joondalup court on Thursday he was not required to plead but did indicate to Magistrate Raelene Johnston that he understood the charge. She remanded him in custody to appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on March 18. Police said on Wednesday another person was assisting them with their inquiries over the Yanchep death.
