Baldivis secondary college: School carnival rocked by ‘disturbance’ as police investigaton ongoing

Police are investigating an altercation during a sports carnival in Perth’s southern suburbs on Wednesday. Baldivis Secondary College parents were informed via text message that “all students” were safe on Wednesday afternoon, after a fight is believed to have broken out on the school’s oval around 1.30pm on Stillwater Drive. “Upon arrival, it was established a group of people had been involved in an altercation before fleeing the area,” a police spokesperson said on Wednesday. There were no reports of injuries and police confirmed no arrests had been made. A text message sent by the school said students were moved to safety into classrooms under the supervision of staff as a result of the incident. “Dear Parents/Carers. There was an incident today at the sports carnival,” the message read. “However, I would like to reassure you that all students are safe. “Normal school timetable has resumed for the remainder of the day.” The Education Department’s South Metropolitan Regional director Sue Cuneo said an incident had occurred on the school’s oval which required all students to return to their classrooms. “The behaviour of some students and members of the community was causing concern and police were called to help school staff manage the situation,” she said.
