Hoons who egg each other on to do burnouts at Bunnings in a dangerous new online challenge are “beyond stupid”, according to WA’s Police Minister.

One of the videos, which has surfaced online, was filmed inside the loading dock at the Malaga warehouse in front of shoppers and staff.

“I'm disgusted by that video. It’s idiotic behaviour,” Police Minister Michelle Roberts said.

“This has got the potential to cost someone their life.”

It’s a risky new stunt, sweeping the country.

It’s called the “snag and a skid”, but police call it dangerous and downright stupid.

Hoons challenge each other to post videos online of their burnouts at Bunnings.

They're often fake accounts but their intentions are very real.

Bunnings says it takes customer and staff safety seriously, but despite the brazen daylight burnouts it would not reveal what steps it was taking to stop the reckless behaviour.

This weekend, it’s business as usual as police investigate.

But anyone caught doing this will have the book thrown at them.

“Grow up — do something purposeful and useful in life,” Ms Roberts said.

Anyone caught faces up to seven years behind bars.
