A manhunt has been launched after two women were robbed and one beaten in Perth’s western suburbs.

Both incidents happened about 10.20pm on Thursday, October 22 in Swanbourne — just three kilometres apart.

The first victim, a 20-year-old waitress, was allegedly set upon at The Shorehouse restaurant carpark after finishing her shift.

Police said two men approached her as she was getting into her Holden Astra. One opened the driver’s door before threatening the woman and punching her in the face.

He also allegedly stole the victim’s phone, bag and keys, while the other man opened the passenger door and stole items from the front passenger seat.

The men fled the area in a silver sedan, with the victim left nursing injuries to her face and jaw.

The first man was aged in his 20s and had dark skin and a large build. He was wearing a dark hoody.

The second alleged offender was described as dark-skinned, average height, and wearing a grey hoody.

About the same time, a woman in her 30s, was sitting in her Ford Falcon sedan in Milyarm Rise when a man approached her.

Police said he tapped on the passenger window and asked for directions to Mandurah.

Once she rolled down her window, he allegedly leaned in and stole her handbag on the front passenger seat.

The man was allegedly seen driving east on Alfred Road in a silver sedan. He was described as about 25-30-years-old, with tanned skin, a solid build, and cleanly shaven face.

He was wearing a black cap and a black jumper.

Detective Sergeant Sam Hazlitt said the women were left traumatised, particularly the young waitress who was allegedly beaten during the robbery.

“She’s a young lady who probably felt she was in a safe vicinity of her workplace so understandably it was quite a traumatic incident,” he said.

Police believe the incidents are related and the silver sedan is a 2005 Subaru Impreza sedan.

Anyone who witnessed either of the two incidents should contact Crime Stoppers or make a report online.
