Detectives are investigating burglaries at a Westpac bank in Palmyra and the Westfield Booragoon shopping centre.

Police say the offenders forced entry into the Risely Street shopping centre in Booragoon at some time between 6pm yesterday and 4.45am today.

It’s not yet known whether any items were stolen but police believe the incident is linked to a burglary at Westpac on Petra Street in Palmyra.

Police say the bank break-in happened about 3.30am when offenders smashed their way into the building.

A man is currently assisting the Regional Investigations Unit detectives with their inquiries.
