Roebourne: Girrawheen man, 51, charged with murder after man in 50s found dead at Roe Street home

A Perth man has faced court on a murder charge after another man was found dead in a Roebourne home earlier this month. The West Australian can reveal that homicide detectives have charged 51-year-old man Peter Douglas McArthur over the violent incident at a property on Roe Street on December 1. St John WA were called to the home the next day, where paramedics found a 50-year-old with serious injuries. He was declared dead at the scene. Police allege the man, aged in his 50s, was brutally assaulted before he was found at the property. “Both men are known to each other,” a WA Police spokesman said. Mr McArthur, a Girrawheen man, appeared in Geraldton Magistrates Court on Friday, speaking only to confirm his name. Magistrate Kelly Thompson said she was unable to consider bail, as it was a supreme court charge. Mr McArthur was remanded in custody, and is due to appear in Stirling Gardens via video link on Wednesday January 22.
