Young woman lucky to have eye after bloody glassing at Alkimos pub The Landing

A 20-year-old woman is facing the prospect of multiple surgeries after she was allegedly glassed in the face at a northern suburbs pub. The altercation unfolded just before 10.30pm on Friday night at The Landing in Alkimos. Two young women, both aged 20, were at the pub when an argument allegedly broke out between the pair, police say. The argument escalated and became physical between the pair — who were known to each other — when one of the women allegedly hit the other in the face with a glass, narrowly missing her right eye. The victim was left with a 5cm gash down her face and other smaller cuts to her face and head. It is understood the young woman allegedly had to pull pieces of glass from her head in the aftermath before being taken to Joondalup Health Campus for treatment of her injuries. She underwent surgery on Saturday afternoon. The accused glass-wielding woman was later arrested at an address in Two Rocks. She was charged with unlawful wounding and faced Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday over the alleged attack. The 20-year-old was released on bail and will appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 4.
