A 12-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a bus during peak-hour traffic in Perth’s east.

The boy was knocked off his bike on Alton Road in Beechboro when the bus — understood to be a Transperth bus — hit his rear wheel.

Police were called to the scene at 3.20pm this afternoon.

It is understood the boy suffered a possible broken leg and was left ‘distressed’ by the ordeal.

Paramedics rushed the boy and his mother to St John of God Midland.
