A man is fighting for his life after crashing his motorbike along a stretch of country road in WA’s Wheatbelt. St John Ambulance was alerted to a single-vehicle crash on Bungalla North Road, near the intersection of Yorkrakine East Road in North Tammin about 3.45pm. The driver of the motorbike, a man in his 20s, was treated at the scene before the RAC chopper was arranged to take him to Royal Perth Hospital. A Royal Perth Hospital spokesperson confirmed the man was in a critical condition when he arrived at the hospital on Saturday evening. The Wheatbelt crash comes as data revealed motorcyclists are dying at the tragic rate of one a week on WA roads. According to figures provided by the Road Safety Commission, 19 people have died in a crash as a motorcycle rider or pillion passenger across the State in the first 19 weeks of 2023.
