Stow Street shed fire: Man in his 60s suffers severe burns after structure in Webberton goes up in flames
A man has suffered severe burns after a blaze that engulfed a shed on an industrial property near Geraldton on Tuesday night.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to a structure fire on Stow Street in Webberton around 5pm on Tuesday after reports a shed had caught fire.
When volunteer and career firefighters from Geraldton and North Hampton arrived, crews found the structure fully involved in flames.
They managed to have the fire under control by 8.30pm.
A St John WA spokesperson confirmed two ambulance crews were called to the property. A man in his 60s washed rushed to Geraldton Hospital with severe burns.
He was airlifted to Perth on Tuesday and is currently undergoing treatment at Fiona Stanley Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police attended the scene and revealed the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
