Five-month old baby dead, five-year-old child critical after being hit by car in Sydney

A five-month-old baby has died and a five-year-old child is in a serious condition after a woman appears to have reversed over a pram in a carpark in Sydney’s southwest.
The fatal incident occurred on Brookfield Road in Minto just after 3.30pm on Monday.
On arrival police commenced CPR on the infant before paramedics arrived, however she was unable to be saved.
The older child was taken to Westmead Children’s hospital in a serious condition.
The 35-year-old driver reportedly reversed her Renault SUV over the two children this afternoon, Nine News reported.
The outlet reported that an early avenue of investigation included a theory that the woman had intended to move the car forward, unaware it was still in reverse.
The driver was uninjured.
Police remain at the scene and have commenced an investigation into the crash.
