This Wandina abode took out the title of the HIA Regional West Australian Housing Awards Mid West Home of the Year for its “dramatic coastal build”.

The awards on Saturday night celebrated the most exceptional homes built in WA’s South West, Great Southern and Mid West regions.

The highest accolade for the Mid West went to Tunbridge Construction & Maintenance for their stunning Wandina project.

The property — situated on a steep slope and cleverly embracing its coastal location with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean — was also named Custom Built Home of the Year over $500,000.

“Judges praised the design and build of this project which navigates significant site challenges with grace. Incorporating expansive windows, a dramatic cantilevered alfresco area, and a layout tailored for low-maintenance, year-round living, the home’s meticulous detailing and materials selection showcase the builder’s precision and thoughtful execution,” HIA WA executive director Michael McGowan said.

Integrity New Homes Geraldton also won a number of categories including Residential Design of the Year as well as Lightweight Housing and Custom Built Home up to $500,000.

Mr McGowan praised the resilience and dedication of the regional building industry.

“Each year, we see regional builders delivering homes that not only meet the needs of their clients, but also respond to challenging landscapes, regional climates, and evolving lifestyle demands,” he said.

“The 2025 winners exemplify the remarkable design thinking, craftsmanship, and environmental responsiveness that make regional WA a leader in quality home building.”

Mr McGowan said the depth of this year’s entries was impressive.

“Whether it’s a grand coastal residence, a modular home in the bush, or a small townhouse development, these awards demonstrate that regional Western Australia is home to some of the most thoughtful, well-executed, and inspiring residential projects anywhere in the country,” he said.
