Man, 18, killed as car hits tree and catches fire near Kojonup in WA’s Great Southern

A teenager has been killed in a fiery crash overnight near Kojonup in WA’s Great Southern.

Police say the 18-year-old man left Katanning last night driving a silver Ford Falcon sedan.

About 2am this morning, the car was found on the Kojonup-Katanning Road in Cherry Tree Pool, east of Kojonup.

The car had left the road, struck a tree and caught fire.

The 18-year-old driver died at the scene.

It is the 16th fatal crash in the Great Southern region this year.

Major Crash investigators want to speak to anyone with information about the incident.
