OFA 2025: Gnowangerup too strong in second half for Boxwood Hill, Jerramungup’s second term blitz sets up win

Gnowangerup produced a dominant second half on their way to a commanding fourth win of the 2025 Ongerup Football Association league competition.
The Bulldogs didn’t concede a goal in a defensively strong second half, as they ran out 62-point winners against Boxwood Hill at Gnowangerup on Saturday.
In round six of the season, the home side led by only seven points at half-time but it was a one-sided affair after that.
The visitors were held to just two behinds across the last half, as they suffered a fifth loss of the season 11.14 (80) to 2.6 (18).
The Bulldogs piled on eight unanswered goals after the long break to remain locked with Jerramungup, who also have four wins, on the ladder.
Key forward Connor Smallwood was influential for the winners with three goals and was well supported by Brandon Wise (two goals).
Lewis Davis kicked a goal and was also in the Bulldogs best players along with Murray Hayward (one) and Marley Phillips.
Bradley Joyce and Rohan Vaux were the goalkickers for Boxwood.
The Bulldogs sit on top of the ladder, with only percentage separating them and the Eagles.
The Eagles moved to a 4-1 win-loss record after a strong 41-point victory on the road against Newdegate.
Six goals in the second term proved the difference for the Eagles, as they opened up a significant 36-point break on the Lions.
The Lions matched their rivals in the second half, both kicking three goals, but the damage had been done.
The Eagles marched to a strong 12.14 (86) to 7.3 (45) result.
Nic Winters, Ben Hislop, Connor Hawkins and Tate Barrett were all superb for the visitors.
The Lions were best served by Matthew Dykes, Dean Rintoul, Jorrum Tucker and Riley Bridger.
