One point the difference in 36-hole 4BBB Teams Classic

An incredible display of the region’s finest golfers was on show at the Four-Ball-Better-Ball Teams Classic at the Katanning Golf Club last weekend.

A total of 61 teams comprising of four players each hit the fairways of the Katanning course to fight it out for $4000 in vouchers for the winners across the 36-hole competition. A warm-up nine-hole competition was held last Friday, with 50 players coming out for an early swing to give themselves the best chance of taking home the title.

Saturday’s 18-hole event marked the first day of competitive play and there was an incredibly close finish at the top of the leaderboard.

There were three teams sitting on more than 90 Stableford points at the end of the first day, with the Kojonavirus side in first place.

But this lead did not last long as Adders swept up on the Sunday with an impressive 189 points to edge out Kojonavirus by one point.

The Brookton Bombers took out third place, with players Amy Carlshousen, Jordan Wylds and Ryan and Nigel Sheriden playing the Brookton-based side to 182 points.

Katanning Country Club president Phil Russell said the tournament was a very successful weekend.

Tournament winners Adders — Gary Byles, Paul Coni, Geoff Little and Mike Fancote — took home a voucher valued at $1000 each, courtesy of Katanning Waste Management.
