Classy midfielder Jarrod Garlett has been ruled out, but Goldfields Indigenous Allstars coach Rob Hansen fancies his chances on Saturday against the GFL Allstars in a showcase of the region’s best talent.

The clash at Sir Richard Moore Sports Centre will be played after the WAFL match between Subiaco and Swan Districts, with Hansen confirming Garlett strained a hamstring in Kambalda’s loss to Boulder on Thursday night.

“Obviously with (GFL) matches being played all week, our biggest concern was always going to be getting players through unscathed and most of them have,” Hansen said.

“Jarrod is a big one (omission) for us, but I’m still very happy.

“Most of the best players have put their hand up, jumped at the opportunity to play and we still have quality running through the midfield.

“We’ll shuffle the board around a little bit and hopefully come up with the right balance.”

Gold Stars are coached by Merv Dellar with Mines Rovers’ Jordan Delbridge captain.

“I’m very excited about the calibre of players who’ve made themselves available,” Dellar said.

“They include Boulder’s Jake Nuich, Brett Blair and Alex Paech, Jordan (Delbridge) is up and about and Dan Leach has been in very good form for Railways.

“These type of games don’t come around too often, so hopefully we can put on a really good display.”

The Allstars match is at 3pm.
