Pemberton Arts Group’s spring exhibition is over for another year, with the final prizes being awarded and the exhibition winding up.

The people’s choice award, voted by exhibition attendees, went to Ann Rice’s piece Abalone Shell, making Ms Rice a dual award winner, having claimed the Shire of Manjimup award at the opening ceremony.

Bannister Downs’ Hand in Hand Acquisitive Award, valued at $1500, went to Peppermint Grove artist Liz Bint for her piece Sunset Dreaming.

“It’s the first major award I’ve ever won, so I was really thrilled and quite humbled by it,” she sad.

“It affirms that the art I’m doing is well liked and that’s really pleasing as well.”

Mrs Bint is usually a resin artist and said it was nice to win for an acrylic piece.

In total the exhibition sold 21 pieces of art, which organiser Anna Czerkasow said was roughly the same as previous editions of the exhibition.

The final piece sold at the exhibition — an ink painting of Ned Kelly — was sold to Pemberton police officer-in-charge Gavin Barke.
