Midwest Martial Arts team shine bright in Kalgoorlie at Red Dust Fight Show with impressive results

The team at Midwest Martial Arts starred at the Red Dust Fight Show in Kalgoorlie at the weekend with four out of the five getting their hand raised in what was a great trip for the local fighters.
After a 10-hour drive to Kalgoorlie, the Mid West Martial Arts team were rearing and ready to go as they prepared for the Red Dust FIght Show with three of the five fighters debuting.
Fighter of the night was Malachi Fraser who stunned the crowd with a first-round stoppage in his kickboxing debut, winning in impressive style.
The 16-year-old local stole the show leaving the official with no choice but to stop the contest against Ariki Burnett.
Malachi’s coach Michael ‘Moby’ Jones said there are big things to come for the young star.
“He (Malachi) is a hard worker and we are all very proud of him,” he said.
“To see him do as well as he did in his debut is awesome.
“He certainly has a bright future in the sport and there are avenues he can go down to get there.
“He is too young to compete in MMA but when the time comes it will be awesome to see him out their competing.”
Sunny Clarkson also made his debut in his MMA three-round bout against Matias Alquinta and with the fight going the distance it came down to the judges’ scorecards.
Clarkson won the fight with his hand raised marking another win for the Mid West Martial Arts team.
James ‘Twinkle Toes’ Butson went down in his boxing bout however showed heart and determination, going the distance and leaving the judges to decide.
In the other boxing bout for the Mid West Martial Arts team, Sophia Farmer was victorious an impressive debut, which ended up being an absolute battle to go the three-round distance.
The judges awarded the fight to Farmer after an impressive battle from the Mid West local.
In the final fight of the night, Brendon Forrester walked out for his MMA bout and put in an impressive performance with a first-round submission stoppage.
This was the cherry on top for the Mid West Martial Arts team and capped off a great weekend away for the squad.
