Mid West, Gascoyne set to benefit from State Government funding towards community projects

Ten organisations across the Mid West and Gascoyne are set to benefit from State Government funding through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program.
The program provides support to community initiatives throughout the regions, with more than $5 million distributed since 2020.
The Gascoyne will be a big beneficiary of the program in this round, with eight organisations in line for funding.
Across the Mid West and Gascoyne, $55,000 will be shared to help boost community projects.
One such event is the Shire of Shark Bay’s Beats in the Bay festival featuring live music at Denham foreshore.
Among the other funding recipients are the Carnarvon Race Club to run community-based events, while a wash-down pad will be well received by Carnarvon Volunteer Marine Rescue.
The Main Street Christmas Party in Carnarvon is also set for funding for 2025.
Further north, Exmouth Marine Rescue has been approved for a shade sail, while the Shire of Upper Gascoyne will receive funding for its Under Gascoyne Skies event where onlookers can take in the night sky and enjoy local produce.
Sporting in the region has also been backed, with the Gascoyne Football Association receiving funding for sporting equipment.
St John Ambulance in Shark Bay and Cue will receive a financial boost, while the latter’s Community Resource Centre has been approved for funding for “empowering creativity”.
