A man his 40s was taken to hospital on Monday morning after the truck he was driving rolled on North Coastal Highway, 20km south of Northampton.

The Western Power truck and another car were involved in an accident near Bowes around 9.30am, with debris scattered across the highway north of Hatch Road.

The man in his 40s was trapped inside the truck and had to be pulled out of the wreckage by a team from Geraldton Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters handed the man over to St Johns Ambulance at 10.30am and he was taken on a priority two call to Geraldton Regional Hospital for treatment, arriving just before 11.30am.

It is understood the car also rolled off the road, but no one else was treated for injuries at the scene.
