WA Police release heartwarming footage of the moment a missing elderly woman was found in Margaret River

Police bodycam footage has captured the incredible moment a missing elderly woman was found cold and alone hiding in the dense bushland of WA’s South West region. On Wednesday evening, 78-year-old Maxine Brown went missing from her home in Margaret River sparking a desperate police search as family and friends became concerned for her welfare. Thankfully, Ms Brown was found safe and sound early on Thursday morning. She was reunited with her family in hospital. WA Police have released body-worn camera footage that shows the moment officers stumbled across her “leaning against a tree” among bushland in the Margaret River region. In the darkness with the sun only just beginning to rise, an officer is heard speaking to Ms Brown saying, “You OK? We’ve been looking for you all night, how’d you manage to get all the way over here?” Inspector Steve Scott said Ms Brown was intending to visit her daughter’s home but never arrived. Ms Brown’s daughter Jane praised the “amazing response” from police and was “immensely grateful”.
