St Matthew’s School kindergarten class held their well overdue Mother’s Day afternoon tea on August 18, inviting mums in for a performance and snacks and to give them handmade Mother’s Day gifts.

Usually held on the Thursday before Mother’s Day, the COVID-19 outbreak dashed this year’s plans, but kindergarten teacher Claire Graham said she could not let the year go by without an event to mark Mother’s Day 2020.

“It’s always such a highlight, and such a special and important day for the kids and their mums,” she said.

“I knew we’d eventually be able to have it, and we were just so happy to be able to squeeze it in before Father’s Day.”
