IN PICTURES: WA’s budding hockey-stars face off at the Upper Great Southern Junior Hockey Carnival

Budding athletes from across WA grabbed their sticks and stormed the Narrogin turf for the 2025 Upper Great Southern Junior Hockey Carnival at the weekend. The Upper Great Southern Hockey Association transformed Narrogin’s football and cricket oval into three extra fields alongside the existing hockey turf for 37 teams to battle for top spot in a round robin tournament on Saturday and Sunday. About 500 players from Years 5-10, along with teachers and parents, travelled from Bunbury, Perth, Ravensthorpe, Esperance, Peel, Busselton, Collie, the Central Great Southern and Albany. The junior carnival has been a July school holiday highlight for more than six decades and welcomes hundreds of junior players to represent their hockey clubs.
