Towns Cricket Club’s Pink Stumps Ladies’ Day has rolled around again, with this year’s theme Isle of Capri bringing the essence of the Italian coast to Narrogin.

Social co-ordinator Ellen Smith said the event was always a big affair, with women of all ages coming along to the annual A-grade match between Towns and Cuballing in Narrogin.

The Pink Stumps weekend kicks off on Friday, February 12 with a quiz night, with the Ladies’ Day event during the match the next day.

Starting at 2pm, the event consists of an afternoon tea, open bar, prizes and live music from Hayden McGlinn.

Community health nurse Lana Grzinic will be giving a talk about breast awareness and breast health.

“Pink Stumps Day is a great opportunity for the cricket club to get together and bring attention to the important work that the McGrath Foundation does,” Ms Smith said.

“It’s also a great way to show support for people in the community who have had their own breast cancer journey.”

The organisation, created by Australian cricket great Glenn McGrath and his late wife Jane after her public experience with breast cancer, is supported by cricket clubs all over Australia.
