The 122nd edition of the beloved Narrogin Agricultural Show went off without a hitch according to organisers, who said the sun shone bright on the thousands of show-goers at Clayton Oval on Saturday.
Narrogin Agricultural Society secretary Vicki Chadwick said while no one had yet had the chance to calculate official gate numbers, Saturday’s lovely weather meant many Wheatbelt locals flocked to the grounds.
“Overall, it went really, really well,” she said.
“It was absolutely terrific weather and it was especially packed out for the fireworks.
“There were the usual complaints about how much you have to pay for things as money is bit tighter these days but there’s nothing we can do about that.

She said the dunking machine run by the local volunteer firefighters, the road rescue demonstrations and the inside look at the St John WA ambulance were particular hits with the kids.
“The atmosphere was fantastic,” she said.
“We had farmers showing off their ag machinery, car dealers, lots of food vans, the brilliant Rockingham City Pipe band and a lovely multicultural atmosphere from the traditional Chinese drummers who did a performance in the afternoon, and the Vietnamese group did music and dancing as well.
“We had the Sundowner Linedancers put on a couple a things during the day, and the magician Vince Pop Magic was very popular with the kids and adults as usual.”
Other entertainment included free rides on the miniature tractors, an obstacle challenge, laser corps, petting zoo, shearing demonstrations and the trade exhibitions that showed off the skill of the regions bakers, florists, and artists.
Two service recognition awards were presented to Ann Rintoul and Dorothy Andrews for their many years of dedication to the show.
“We’ll have a bit of time to recoup then be back to planning for next years show soon,” Ms Chadwick said.
