The Narrogin and Districts Netball Association had its first round back after school holidays on Friday, producing a hard-fought game in the A1 competition between Wickepin and Flames.

Flames proved too strong, notching their eighth win of the season to remain on top of the ladder after their 10-goal victory in round 10.

Wickepin converted their first centre pass and then a turnover in the first few minutes to take an early lead.

However, Flames hit back to even up the score not long into the first quarter.

Flames defence was tough with both players searching for intercepts and restricting the Wickepin shooters well.

In the second quarter Flames got in front by a small margin and were playing quick and calculated netball.

The Wickepin defence throughout the court was tight which had them pushing Flames players out of position and that created turnover opportunities.

The mid-courts on both sides were working hard hitting the circles on either ends and with some great movement in the goals by the shooters.

Flames continued to build on their lead in the fourth quarter and came away the better team, securing a 39-29 victory.

Cuballing 1 upset reigning premiers Pingelly 1, winning 51-32, while Wagin 1 prevailed 61-54 against Williams 1 in their match.
